The QDU is seeking suitable applicants for the position of 2015 Queensland State Team Coach. This is a volunteer position.
The primary role of the State Team Coach is to coach the students selected as the Queensland State Team to compete at the annual National Schools Debating Championships. The State Team Coach will also be required to actively participate in the selection of the members of the Queensland State Team, work with the QDU Executive, and perform some administrative duties.
It is the preferred position of the QDU Executive that the State Team Coach has no other coaching commitments for the time that they are in this position. Please note that, without exception, anyone coaching a Senior A team in 2015 will not be eligible for the role.
Additionally, the QDU is open to appointing two candidates in the role of “joint coaches” if that is likely to be in the best interest of the Queensland State Team. We are accepting joint applications if you and another person would like to be considered together for the role of joint coaches.
If you are interested in this position, please submit an application to the QDU Office Manager, Tony Scarcella, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In no more than two pages, please address the following criteria in your application:
- Overall debating and coaching experience (please specify any teams you have coached at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, and any notable achievements you have as a coach and/or debater).
- Your vision for the role.
- Whether you are a holder of, or able to obtain, a CCYPCG Bluecard for the purpose of volunteering with children.
- Whether you have obtained, or are willing to obtain, a positive national police check.
If you have any questions about the role, please feel free to contact Tony Scarcella in the first instance.
Applications close at 4.00pm on Friday December 19, 2014.
