    The QDU is run by an elected committee comprising a President, three Vice-Presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, a community relations officer and four executive officers without portfolio, who are each assigned to a vice-president.

    Senior Vice President: David Stephens
    The Senior Vice President is the second highest ranking executive of the Queensland Debating Union. Specific roles of the Senior Vice President include maintaining the Coaches Register and organising Summer Schools.

    Vice President (Adjudicators): Lauren Humphrey
    The Vice President (Adjudicators) is responsible for the training, accreditation and oversight of the QDU’s adjudicators. Her major responsibilities include:
    • The compilation of adjudicator training materials
    • The coordination of adjudicator training seminars and accreditation evenings during the months of January and February.
    • Evaluation, grading and promotion of adjudicators.
    • The review of adjudicator complaints throughout the course of the competition.

    Vice President (Schools): Sarida McLeod
    The Schools’ Vice President is responsible for the organisation and management of QDU Competitions. This involves supervising the generating of draws, setting topics and supervising the arrangement of venues. The Schools’ Vice President also manages the QDU Rules and deals with any complaints arising under the rules, except complaints regarding an adjudicator.
