Wednesday, 30 August 2017
Wednesday, 11 October 2017
For the first three rounds ALL Debates are scheduled to commence at 6:15 pm , 7:00 pm and 7:45 pm.
The exact time of all debates is set out in the competition draw.
Round 4 (Wednesday October 11, 2017) will be a short preparation round for this competition. ALL Debates for this round will be scheduled to START at either 7:00 pm or 8.15 pm. Students will need to be in attendance no later than 75 minutes before the advertised start time so that they can receive their topic envelope and prepare their case for the debate.
To make things a little easier we have dedicated THREE Postponement dates in the calendar, which will be the first dates considered after a postponement is granted by the QDU under the QDU Rules and communicated in writing to both schools involved.
The three dates selected are:
Thursday, 17 August 2017
Wednesday 25 October 2017
Wednesday 1 November 2017 *
(*ALL Round 4 postponements approved by QDU will move to this date – NO EXCEPTIONS)
Failing the utilisation of these three dates, the QDU’s default position is to try an place postponed debates on “other” debating nights – (This will not occur for Round 4 debates as per above)
(e.g. Year 7 postponements to be on nights and at venues where we have Years 5 and 6 debating)
