Teams must be registered through the CMS (Competition Management System) by a registered coordinator of the school. New coordinators can register here. Please note that your registration will require approval by a QDU admin before you will be allowed to log in. If you require urgent access to the CMS, please email admin@qdu.org.au after completing the form so we can expedite the approval process.
Requesting a Postponement
If you will be unable to field a team for an upcoming debate, the team may be eligible for a postponement. Please note that postponements should be a last resort and must be lodged at least 48 hrs prior to the original commencement time of the debate. The QDU Rules allow for substitutions to be made from younger year levels to replace missing speakers which may help avoid a postponement.
Postponement requests must be submitted via the CMS's Request a Postponement page. If the debate has already had its draw released, you can request a postponement via the Upcoming Debates accordion. The Upcoming Rounds accordion allows you to request a postponement for rounds without a draw released.
Once a debate is selected, you will be prompted to select alternative debates. Please select as many alternative debates as possible to increase the chances of a postponement date being agreed upon. You must also provide a reason. Requests with insufficient or unacceptable reasoning may be denied under the discretion of the QDU Schools Vice-President.
A sample postponement request can be seen below.
Once a request has been submitted, you can track its progress through the View Forfeits & Postponements page. This page will also show postponement requests lodged by opposing schools. You will be required to accept or decline postponement requests from opposing schools through this page.
Requesting a Forfeit
If you are unable to field a team for an upcoming debate and are unable/ineligible to request a postponement (i.e. the debate is within 48 hours of commencement) you must request a forfeit via the CMS's Request a Forfeit page. Please note that fines may be incurred by schools for forfeits without sufficient notice under the discretion of the QDU Schools Vice-President.
A sample forfeit request can be seen below.
